I grew up in the mountains of North Carolina. As a young adult, I sold all my stuff and bought a train ticket to California seeking adventure — I found more than I expected.

After graduating from the San Francisco Art Institute, I was hired at frog design. Between then and now, I've had a mix of successes and failures startups, like Pinterest, Scribd, Eventbrite, Sonder, Fable and Microhealth.. 

The twists and turns in my career have made me a more adaptable, strategic and patient Designer. Over the years, I've excelled at running my own user research, prototyping, brand design and strategy, roadmap planning, design team recruitment and management. 

I'm perpetually inspired by the natural world and love to find ways to bring serendipitous bits of it into my work.  

In my free time, I love to make art, tinker with samplers and synthesizers and explore the outdoors with my small family.
